Editor,
I agree with letter writer Leota McLean who said, “Remember this at election time” (“PG&E wins again” Sept. 8 edition of the Daily Journal).

Once again, corporate greed and faulty incompetent business practices have led to the death of dozens of people and the destruction of hundreds of homes. The legislators have passed this liability onto the rate payers while CEO and president of PG&E, Geisha J. Williams’ salary was $7,600,410 for the fiscal year 2017 with over $12 million in bonuses, and with shareholders owning 517,151,000 shares at $45.78 per share earning 16 percent in dividends per share. This is where the money should come from, not the rate payers, for any liability PG&E incurs.
As long as you’re voting for the one-party corporate millionaire dictatorship, the Democrats and Republicans will always sell you out to the highest bidder, which in this case is PG&E for the bribe they paid in 2017 of $1,031,018 to ensure they will always have legislation favorable to it. Boy did it pay off in spades.
