Editor,

Wow — what an incredible day! Thank you for showing up for our democracy at the No Kings protest in San Mateo. You made this event truly powerful. Together, we sent a clear message:  America is a democracy. We don’t want a monarchy.  We fought for our freedom in 1776 against a mad king and we won. Today we are fighting for our freedom against a want-to-be-king and we will win again.

I don't agree a number of Trump's programs but I'd rather have Trump as king than Bidden or Kamala.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Beavins and Mr. Caggiano. The day was so incredible that it rated one story in the DJ before being archived. Hopefully, these protests spurred much posted video and photos which can potentially be scraped by AI for facial recognition. And sorry to remind you, folks know freedom was won 250 years ago so we could have “No King.” Folks with TDS need to work on better messaging because this “No King” thing is 250 years old and isn't cutting the mustard.

I’d say these protests are good for TDS folks to blow off steam and be distracted while our (yes, our) great President Trump continues Make America Great Again, again. Oh yes, and thanks to these protests, it’s spurred action from Trump. Action from the Trump administration in directing ICE to expand urban deportations. Don’t be surprised when “protests” become more sparsely attended as some attendees may no longer be able to attend. And what is meant by “playing hardball”? Incitement to riot or insurrection? I’ll let feds decide should anything untoward occur at these protests.

BTW, how about those reports showing Indivisible is funded by dark money coming from billionaires? Do we have a group funded by billionaires while they bellyache about billionaires such as Trump and Musk? I guess billionaires are okay as long as they’re on the left. And in other news, we have Israel vs. Hamas and Iran and Russia vs. Ukraine. Oh wait, they’re also mostly peaceful protests.
