Editor,

I was upset and saddened to learn of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan to build Liquefied Natural Gas facilities off of California's coast. This plan would pose a direct threat to California's environment, security, and the health of its citizens. Instead, the Governor should focus his efforts on passing SB1, the Million Solar Roofs Bill. This bill has the potential to bring one million new solar homes and businesses to California in the next ten years by providing incentives for homeowners to go solar. This law would effectively reduce our need for such risky offshore LNG facilities and would also cut 1.3 million tons of air pollution from our skies every year. Please write your Assemblyperson and ask them to support SB1, the bill that puts California on the right path to energy independence.
