With friends in law enforcement locally, inside and outside of the Sheriff’s Office, I am astonished that she has not formally resigned after Wednesday night’s vote of no confidence. What I watched was a woman who just was more interested in declaring that the accusations were due to a political witch hunt rather than addressing the accusations one by one. Her lack of demonstrable patience in that meeting and the emotion expressed in my mind was justifiable proof of why she should not hold office.
I have worked for many women, and none would have carried themselves in that manner in a public hearing. Remove her from office. If this is how she acts in public, it’s not hard to imagine how she may conduct herself behind closed doors.
Thanks for your letter, Ms. Huber. My guess is that the sheriff is angling for a large payout to walk away and her actions are to cause as much grief as possible to San Mateo County. As long as San Mateo County law enforcement continues to the best of their ability, we can pop more popcorn and watch the soap opera. Any fireworks are icing on the cake.
