Editor,
A solution might be:
1). To have Iran cease its counter attacks and end its high enrichment of uranium and only continue low level enrichment in joint operation with Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arab League, under the close supervision of the IAEA.
2). Israel would cease its attacks and the entire U.N. as well as Israel would recognize a Palestinian state with the borders of the pre-1967 war, subject to land swaps due to the reality of illegal settlements established over many years since.
3). Israel would evacuate all forces from Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem as per U.N. Security Council resolutions already passed, upon the release of all hostages and prisoners from both sides, and allow the free flow of food and other items into the territories.
4). The entire Arab League would recognize Israel and establish normal relations.
Mutual trade and people exchanges are far cheaper than perpetual conflict. It should be a definite win-win for all concerned.
How’s that for a possible deal that would be comprehensive and practical? Certainly better then just muddling along in the same old ruts that have gotten us all nowhere.
This was adopted by Veterans for Peace Chapter No. 69 on June 17, 2025.

Mike, I would love for this to come about. But, I feel it will only come about when and if Netanyahu can let go of his hatred of the Palestinians or he dies. This would be a hard goal to accomplish, but a very worth whiled one to do. Also, so long as Jerusalem is desired by the Jews, Muslims and Christians, there will be bloodshed. Keep dreaming for a better day.
A reasonable proposal but highly unlikely. Unfortunately wars are emotional and not always rational. I think we have to take our Iran's nuclear facility at Fordow first and then we can talk.
