Editor,
There is something even more sinister afoot, evident for years now, than the coup effected against President Biden in forcing him to abandon his campaign: The abdication of journalistic integrity by the mainstream media.
Where in the name of a free press is the outrage over Tim Walz lying about his Minnesota National Guard rank and carrying guns in a war to which he declined to be deployed? Where are the questions to Kamala Harris about her policies and the many flip-flops she has already made on important issues? For how long will the mainstream media let the most radical, far left candidate for president hide from extemporaneously answering unscripted questions?
Probably for the duration of the election if Biden’s 2020 basement campaign is their guide.
After all, Harris’ inability to answer questions or speak coherently without a teleprompter is already well known and the complicit mainstream media — caught red-handed failing to report on Biden’s serious cognitive decline for years — does not want to be complicit in torpedoing the most extreme, far left, woke national ticket ever. Maintaining journalistic integrity is no longer a goal if it would help the Republican ticket. The mainstream media ought not so easily discard its ethics for it may one day awaken to find it is merely a press, having lost its “free” moniker.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Garrett. Let’s not forget the “free” press is attempting to lose their “free” in another way – the mainstream media are attempting to pass legislation to get other corporations to give them money (highy likely to be unconstitutional). Regardless, the mainstream media has tossed much of their journalistic integrity, especially, as you’ve noted, when it comes to politics and their being complicit in providing cover for Dem candidates, including failed border czar, Hidin’ Harris, and stolen valor A-Walz.
Trump spent his entire time in office, and in the years after, publicly denouncing the media, calls them fake, calls them liars. He has vowed to weaponize government and seek retribution against the news media should he get back into office. He has consistently referred to journalists as the “enemy of the people.” Steve Bannon and Kash Patel have promised to pursue Trump's policy of revenge against journalists should he get back into office. It has been a keystone in TFG's strategy, as it is with all authoritarian figures, to discredit the press.
