Mary Louise Wardlaw, beloved aunt, loyal friend, and spirited adventurer, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 100.
Born on March 26, 1925, to James and Mary Wardlaw, Mary grew up with a strong sense of family and faith. She was preceded in death by her cherished siblings, Catherine Reyna, John Wardlaw, and Patricia Piotrowski.
Mary was involved in several community organizations including YLI, Native Daughters, and the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF). Her commitment to faith and fellowship left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Mary had an adventurous spirit. She was an avid traveler who delighted in exploring new places.
Mary’s wit made her a treasured presence at family gatherings and community events. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews—and even more great-great-nieces and nephews—who all knew her as a wise, kind, and endlessly entertaining member of the family.
Mary lived her century of life with grace, humor, and a strong faith.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church in Redwood City on Tuesday, July 29, at noon with burial following immediately at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. Instead of flowers, the family encourages donations to St. Pius School.
