Michael Ku was named the new fire chief for the city of San Bruno, after a long career serving the department.
His 20 years experience includes being a paramedic firefighter and promotions to captain, battalion chief and acting fire marshal. Before he joined the city in 2005, he was an emergency medical technician and paramedic with American Medical Response.
“I am very excited to have Michael Ku fill this role,” City Manager Alex McIntyre said in a press release. “He brings a long history of service with our community, and I am confident in his ability to lead this department effectively.”
Ku holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from San Jose State University and a range of certifications reflecting his qualifications as a paramedic, strike team leader and technology advocate.
The salary range for the position is $261,079 to $320,376.
