Supervisor announces fatherhood project
San Mateo County Supervisor Jerry Hill in announcing that the county of San Mateo, along with the state of Washington, has been selected to pilot an innovative program that will engage and involve more fathers in the lives of their children who are in the child welfare system.
The Fatherhood Project will begin this fall with the financial assistance of a $442,000 Stuart Foundation grant. Social workers who work with children in the child welfare system will receive training in the elimination of barriers and developing father-friendly policies and practices.
