Foster City has named current Public Works Director/City Engineer Jeff Moneda as its new city manager, effective July 1 after current City Manager Kevin Miller retires.

Moneda has served Foster City for four years and has 19 years of experience in municipal government, having worked in the Public Works departments of the cities of Chula Vista, La Palma and Milpitas, California. He also worked for a geotechnical engineering firm for three years before he transitioned to the public sector, and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University.

Congratulations and well done! I come from a City Manager Uncle run background of a City engineer,San Mateo, building the Belmont slough, City Manager Uncle Hillsborough. Pomona and Kobe , Japan reconstruction days after the War. I appreciate the background of Public Service. I am pleased F.C. has such Service Orieneted people in our ranks. . I am so gad to read of the seamless transition of City Service. Best wishes from our family.
