Forty students at Serra High School are advanced placement scholars in recognition of their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program exams. Students took the tests in March 2005 after completing the college-level courses in high school.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the chance to take college-level courses while in high school, and receive college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams.
Eleven students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades three or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are: Greg Back, Alex Child, John Coleman, Aaron Harms, Victor Kang, Tetsuya Kawamoto, John Nunez, Ricardo Roque, Eugene Stolboushkin, Sam Walsh and Adam Wilson.
Six students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are: Ben Bubenhiem, Steve Buller, Bill Luden, Nick Tom, Kevin Townsend and Nick Turner.
Twenty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Examinations, with grades of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are: Jaren Abedania, Andrew Crighton, Julian Flores, Godofredo Galvez, David Gamache, Charles Gemora, Vinod Kamath, Michael Kell, Ron Kerr, Ben Margolis, Tom McMahon, David Millar, Ian Monaghan, Louis Oamar, David Parker, Dan Porter, Matt Ryan, Andrew Saier, Ferris Salameh, Mike Sanders, Anthony Scherba, Ross Silverman and Kevin Yee.
