Chocolate candy, ice cream, cookie and dessert makers from the Peninsula and the entire Bay Area will offer their chocolate wares for tasting once again as Chocolate Fest returns Saturday, Oct. 18.
This year, the 42nd edition of the annual charity event, will be a one-day affair offered in two session. Guests will be invited to choose either the 1-4 or 5-8 p.m. session when they order their tickets. Everything else will be the same — abundant chocolate tasting of the specialties of the Bay Area’s best chocolatiers, Michael Medwid’s Jazz Ensemble, a Silent Auction, door prizes, champagne and coffee.
Chocolate Fest will take place at the Congregational Church of the Peninsula, 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. And this year, the San Mateo County Health Foundation, which helps provide health care for the underinsured and uninsured of the county, will be the Chocolate Fest beneficiary. Proceeds will also go to the preservation of the church’s historic 100-year-old building.
Among the chocolate specialists who are expected to participate this year will be Guittard Chocolate Co., Preston's Candies, Kokak Chocolates, aL Chocolates, Nash Bakes, Blue Canary Sweets, Sugar • Butter • Love, CocoTutti, Hapa Chocolat, NeoCocoa, Sonoma Chocolatiers, Coba, Godavari Chocolates, Brigadeiro Sprinkles, Amara Restaurant, Mitchell’s Ice Cream, Sam’s Gourmet Jams, Kate’s Toffee and Javier Confections.
