Caltrain will share its new headquarters with SamTrans in the Gateway at Millbrae Station, it announced.

In March, after SamTrans announced it would be vacating its San Carlos headquarters, Caltrain began exploring options to lease or purchase office space near a Caltrain station. After extensive deliberation, the Caltrain Board of Directors determined that the facilities at the new Millbrae office best meet its needs. The office would also be directly next to Caltrain, BART and SamTrans.

Finally a smart move using synergy to safe some money. Now it's time to sell the old HQ in San Carlos and reinvest that money into local service upgrades at SamTrans.

Next step would be to combine SamTrans and Caltrain to increase synergies and combine two Transportation agency - one focusing on regional transportation, one going back and focusing on local transportation and syncing their schedules.

Step three is then to merge with BART and some of the others, so we have to pay fewer outlandish CEO salaries for people that behave like they are paid by Ford and GM rather than working for their customers.
