A 22-year-old Belmont sex registrant has pleaded no contest to three felonies for sneaking into a female neighbor’s apartment and pulling off her blanket, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Christian Canelsian, faces up to 12 years in prison and will be sentenced Oct. 3.
Canelsian, who got out of jail in May after getting time off for good behavior, snuck into his neighbor’s apartment on Sept. 6, 2024, and fled after he pulled off her blanket and she screamed.
The following week, Canelsian allegedly went back to the victim’s apartment and asked the victim and her daughter not to tell anyone he had been inside, according to the DA’s Office. When contacted by police, he said he had been drunk and followed an “animal carrying fruit” into the apartment, the DA’s Office said.
