Activists against air pollution rallied at the state Capitol in Sacramento today in support of a bill co-authored by state Assemblyman Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto, that would clean up tailpipe pollution.
If made into law, Assembly Bill 1058 would require the California Air Resources Board to draft economically sound standards to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and other global warming pollutants, a spokeswoman for the rally says. The bill has already been through the Assembly and the Senate, and now goes back to the Assembly for concurrence with amendments added by the Senate.
