The Sequoia High School Alumni Association awarded $3,446 to teachers at the high school as a part of its “Cherokee Grants” program that helps purchase instructional equipment and teaching materials. This year, 11 teachers were awarded grants for things such as books for English learners, preserved frogs for biology, a laptop for the Robotics Club and educational field trips for multilingual-language learners.

Andrea Tipton of Pacifica graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a master’s in digital forensics and cyber investigation. Tipton graduated with a 4.0 GPA.

Jia Mei Luo of Daly City graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a bachelor’s degree in data science.
