Five Aragon High School students — Alysia Evans Asano, Cyrus Hayden-Gephart, Marlee Cherkas, Marcus Finke and Natalie Sebastiani — were awarded a Global Seal of Biliteracy in recognition of their proficiency in at least two languages.
“Our students have worked hard to develop their language skills, and we are thrilled to see their efforts recognized with the Global Seal of Biliteracy,” Alejandra Cheever, a Spanish teacher at Aragon, said in a press release. “This certification not only celebrates their accomplishments but also opens doors for them in academia and the global job market.”
The Global Seal of Biliteracy offers three levels of certification — functional, working and professional fluency — in more than 100 languages and has been recognized in more than 30 countries and five continents, according to the release.
