Aragon 5, Menlo-Atherton 2
In a battle of unbeatens, it was the Dons who emerged with the unblemished record. Aragon (3-0 PAL Bay, 4-0 overall) took three of the four singles matches, led by Akbar Beg’s 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1. Darrin O’Brien was dominant in a No. 3 singles win, losing only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Only one match, No. 3 singles, went three sets, with the Bears’ tandem of Liam Williamson and Thomas Greenleaf posting a 6-2, 0-6, 10-7 win. M-A falls to 3-1 in league play.
San Mateo 5, Woodside 2
The Bearcats sent the Wildcats to their fourth straight loss in Bay Division play. The match of the day came at No. 1 singles, where Dylan Chau of San Mateo (2-1 PAL Bay) recovered from a set down to beat Jordan Lee 4-6, 6-3, 10-4. Woodside (0-4) got a three-set win of its own from Jay Lee at No. 4 singles, as he got past Bhargac Ramesh 4-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8.
Carlmont 6, Hillsdale 1
The Scots rolled past the Knights, dropping only the No. 4 singles match. Aaron Zhang dominated at No. 1 singles for Carlmont (2-3), winning 6-1, 6-0. The Scots also got a three-set win at No. doubles, where Neel Sijp and Gabe Rui poted a 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 win over Lucas Tu and Tyler Cheng. Hillsdale (0-5) got its win at No. 4 singles, where Leon Zhao downed Ethan Roth 6-4, 57-, 10-6.
Half Moon Bay 5, Sequoia 2
The Cougars pulled into a second-place with the Ravens after knocking them off, sweeping the doubles. Declan Laurenco and Rowan Melton posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles for HMB (3-1), while the No. 1 team of Carlos Ortega and Jackson Oliver won 6-1, 6-4. Sequoia (3-1) won the top two singles matches. Ethan Khaw blew past his opponent at No. 1, winning 6-0, 6-0. Amar Evans, playing at No. 2, had to work much harder, taking down HMB’s Weston Miller in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 10-5.
Mills 6, Oceana 1
The Vikings stayed undefeated in Ocean Division play as they cruised past the Sharks. Mills (5-0) swept the four singles spots, with Max Varfolomeev winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and Victor Li posting a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3. Oceana (3-2) picked up its win at No. 2 doubles, where Renzo Fukuda and Edison Li posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Westmoor 6, Capuchino 1
The Rams had little trouble with the short-handed Mustangs, who forfeited at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles. Jayden Ng was dominant for Westmoor (1-3) at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3. Capuchino (0-4) got its win at No. 2 singles, where Tristan Laderman beat Devin Huang in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
SHP 6, King’s Academy 1
The Gators cruised to the WBAL win over the Knights. SHP dominated at the three doubles matches, winning all three while losing only eight games. The No. 3 team of Matthew Koo and Parsa Jazayerri won 6-2, 6-0, while the other two doubles wins lost only two games. Nos. 3 and 4 singles dropped only three games each, as well.
Boys’ volleyball
San Mateo 3, Balboa 2
The Bearcats needed to win the last two sets to get past the Buccaneers 15-25, 25-11, 24-26, 27-25, 15-12. Aaron Guo led the way offensively for San Mateo (3-4), finishing with a team-high 12 kills. But he had plenty of help: opposite hitter Param Adda added 11 kills and outside hitter Marcus Kim added 10. Guo also had a team-high 16 digs. Balboa falls to 9-6 with the loss.

The Bears continued their strong start to the season with a sweep of the Cardinals, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20. Ben Warner had a team-high 13 kills for M-A (8-1), with setter Peter Chriss finishing with 11 kills and 17 assists. Lowell falls to 5-4.

Mitty (3-0 WCAL, 5-0 overall) swept past Serra (1-1, 6-3), 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.
Lincoln-SF (12-1) beat Summit Shasta (1-7) in three sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21.
