San Mateo 72, South City 6
William Bradford’s second-round pin at 195 highlighted the Bearcats’ rout of the Warriors in the first Ocean Division dual meet of the season.

Menlo School 4, Notre Dame-Belmont 3
The Knights scored a pair of goals in each half to beat the Tigers in a high-scoring WBAL Foothill Division opener for both teams.
Catie Cassani scored twice to lead Menlo (1-0 WBAL Foothill, 9-1 overall), including the game winner on a free kick with just under 20 minutes left to play. Cassani opened the scoring just before the midway point of the first half, converting a Alexa Thomases pass. Thomases picked up a goal as well, with Emily Tse earning the assist. Carolina Espinosa rounded out the scoring for the Knights, with an assist going to Avery Patel.
South City 2, Capuchino 1
The Warriors, a favorite the repeat as the Ocean Division championship, pulled out the win over the Mustangs.
Alexandra Arouxet Jara netted the first goal for South City, off an assist from Fernanda Ramirez. Fatima Waldo Garcia produced the game-winner for the Warriors, intercepting a ball and blasting a shot from 30-yards out.
San Mateo 2, Hillsdale 1
The Bearcats earned their first PAL Ocean Division win of the season by knocking off the rival Knights.
Hillsdale got a late goal from Aaliyah Schinaman, but the Knights could not find the equalizer as they suffered their first Ocean Division loss of the season.

Women’s college basketball
San Mateo 74, Ohlone-Fremont 42
The Lady Bulldogs opened Coast Conference play with a beat down of the Renegades in Fremont.
CSM (1-0 Coast Conference, 6-7 overall) took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring Ohlone (0-1, 0-12) 21-5. the Bulldogs then closed the game with a 20-7 fourth quarter.
CSM was led by Brittney Lewis, who scored a game-high 22 points. Ava Agustin, Tyler McNeil and Megan Jajeh all had eight points each for the Bulldogs.
San Francisco 78, Skyline 58
Led by former Menlo School standout Sam Erisman, the Lady Rams cruised past the Trojans in the conference opener for both team.
Erisman, a 2017 Menlo grad, lit up Skyline for a game-high 23 points. She also dished out eight assists, came up with three steals and grabbed a pair of rebounds.
Skyline (0-1 Coast Conference, 11-6 overall) was led by former Notre Dame-Belmont standout Olga Faasolo, who posted a double-double with 13 points and 17 rbeounds. Giselle Mahinay also scored 13 for the Trojans, while Keri La added 12.
