Half Moon Bay 25, El Camino 20
The Cougars picked up their first-ever flag football win in beating the Colts.
This is the inaugural season for flag football at HMB (1-1 PAL Ocean, 1-4 overall). El Camino (2-2 PAL Ocean, 3-4 overall) is also in its first season, with the Colts picking up their first win in their season opener, 15-6 over Woodside, Sept. 8.
San Mateo 33, Aragon 18
The Bearcats came out on top in their game with the crosstown rival Dons.
San Mateo has now beaten both city rivals. The Bearcats beat Hillsdale 13-0 Sept. 3.
Quarterback Kayla Lichaa accounted for five touchdowns for San Mateo (1-1 PAL Bay, 3-2 overall). She threw two scoring passes — including a 72-yard connection with Destina Zhou — and also added three rushing touchdowns.
Aragon falls to 1-1 in Bay play and 4-2 overall.
Burlingame 40, Woodside 0
The Panthers overwhelmed the Wildcats with three players accounting for two touchdowns each.
Quarterbacks Kendall Gorshen, a senior, and sophomore Olivia Delucchi, each threw two touchdown passes, with Delucchi adding a pick-6 on defense, as did Colette Uharriet. Brooke Schuman also scored twice for Burlingame (2-0 PAL Bay, 7-2 overall).
Woodside falls to 0-3 in the Bay Division and 0-4 overall.
South City 25, Capuchino 18
Quarterback Madyson Jade Quintanilla helped lead the Warriors to the Ocean Division win over the Mustangs.
Quintanilla threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns — one each to Jordyn O’Shea-Signio and Amelia Suarez. Liongi Aiolupi added an interception on defense for South City (1-1-1 PAL Ocean).
Capuchino falls to 1-2 in Ocean Division games.
Menlo School 27, St. Francis 12
The Knights stayed undefeated on the season after beating the Lancers in a WBAL game.
Menlo (4-0 WBAL, 8-0 overall) quarterback Ava Allen hooked up with Lisi Mahe for three touchdowns. Allen added a rushing score, as well.

Carlmont (2-0 PAL Bay, 7-1 overall) was held to just 7 points, but the Scots’ defense pitched a shutout in a 7-0 win over Mills (0-2, 2-2).
Maddie Regan returned a pair of interceptions for scores to lead Hillsdale (1-0 PAL Ocean) to a 28-0 shutout win over Sequoia (1-1, 3-4).
Girls’ golf
Carlmont 233, San Mateo 274
The Scots cruised past the Bearcats at Poplar Creek Golf Course in San Mateo.
Tessa Lee led Carlmont (3-3 PAL Bay), finishing with a 2-over 37. Karuna Mungali added a 5-over 40 and Kathryn Winters a 44.
Alannah Malone led San Mateo (2-5), posting a 43.
Mills 201, Hillsdale 248
The Vikings kept their regular-season Bay Division title hopes alive with the win over the Knights at Poplar Creek.
Mills (6-1 PAL Bay) freshman Irene Hur out-dueled reigning PAL champ, Kayla Corcoran, firing an even-par 35. Corcoran carded a 3-over 38.
Mills’ Chen sisters, senior Angelina and sophomore Christina, finished with rounds of 37 and 40, respectively. Kayle Tsang added a 41 and Katie Chun a 48 for the Vikings.

Burlingame 201, Half Moon Bay 218
The Panthers stayed undefeated in PAL Ocean matches, beating the Cougars at Half Moon Bay Golf Links.
Elaine Foley was missing from the lineup for Burlingame (8-0 PAL Ocean), but Micah Zhou stepped seamlessly into the No. 1 spot and led the Panthers with a round of 34. Sienna Evans and Simone Sims each added 40s for Burlingame. Arushna Bafau carded a 43 and Lilah Zander a 44 to round out the scoring for the Panthers.
HMB (0-6) was led by Kaia Gilbert, who shot. 37. Sarah Spencer had a 41, Aubrie Ball and 45, Bella Piercy a 46 and TJ Bushnell a 49 for the Panthers.
South City 222, Capuchino 253
Chloe Wong was the only golfer to shoot a sub-40 round, leading the Warriors to the Ocean Division win over the Mustangs at Mariners Point Golf Complex in Foster City.
Wong had the low round of the day, carding a 37. Zoe Guevara and Angeleen Bartolome each finished with rounds of 43 and Brooklyn Lapus came in with a 48 for South City (3-4).
Capuchino (1-5) got a 44 from Kaylee Jimenez and a 47 from Setaita Mai.
Boys water polo
Burlingame 11, Woodside 6
The Panthers stayed in a three-way tie for first place in the Bay Division, while knocking the Wildcats into second place.
Burlingame, Menlo-Atherton and Sequoia all sport 4-1 records.
Matt Derossett led the way for Burlingame (4-1 PAL Bay, 10-6 overall), scoring a game-high four goals. Oliver Canniffe had four points for the Panthers, with three assists to go along with a goal. Goalie Will Wuebbling finished with nine saves.
Woodside (3-2, 7-5) goalie Brody Pfeffer did his best to keep his team in the game, finishing with 11 saves. Will Stevenson scored twice to lead the offense for the Wildcats.
Menlo School 17, Serra 9
The Knights continue to roll, cruising past the Padres in a West Catholic Athletic League matchups.
Menlo (3-0 WCAL, 12-2 overall) took control with a seven-goal first period as the Knights held Serra to just four goals through the first three periods.
Goalie Connor Burks had a huge game, finishing with 20 saves. Hunter Coleman led an offensive assault that featured seven goal scorers. Coleman finished with eight goals, Calvin Barad added a hat trick and Alex Stoffel scored twice. Adam Afar played point guard, finishing with five assists, while Lincoln Bott came up with four steals.

Woodside 9, Aragon 7
The Wildcats stayed in a tie with Menlo-Atherton for first place in the Bay Division after holding off the Dons.
Makayla Cox had a strong all-around game for Woodside (4-0 PAL Bay, 11-2 overall). She won three of the four sprints to open each quarter. She also assisted on three goals and came away with three steals, defensively. Kate McGrory finished with eight saves in goal for the Wildcats.
Aragon falls to 2-2 in Bay play and 5-3 overall.
In other action ...
Terra Nova (2-2 PAL Ocean) doubled up Sequoia (0-4), 10-5.
Girls’ volleyball
San Mateo to hold cancer fundraiser
Bearcats will celebrate “Dig Pink” in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness by holding a fundraiser when they host Terra Nova at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.
“Dig Pink” T-shirts are available for sale Friday night, or you can go to www.fundraise.nbcf.org and look for San Mateo girls’ volleyball to make a donation.
The Bearcats have so far raised $325 toward their goal of $1,000.
San Mateo will spend the entire month of October playing in pink at home matches.
