The Sharks rallied in the second half to force overtime, but the Warriors prevailed, outscoring the Sharks 9-5 in the extra period to take the Ocean Division victory.
South City (3-4 PAL Ocean, 8-11 overall) built a 21-10 lead after the first period, but Oceana (0-8, 5-15) got back in the game by outscoring the Warriors 14-7 in the second to trail 28-24 at halftime.
South City extended its lead in the third period, taking a 42-33 advantage into the final eight minutes of regulation before Oceana outscored the Warriors 19-10 in the fourth to force overtime.
Marcus Zhu led the Warriors with 12 points, with Nathan Alimorong adding 11 points. Oceana was paced by Catcher Ashkinos, who finished with a game-high 20 points.
Woodside 43, San Mateo 36
The Wildcats remained one game behind Ocean Division co-leaders Hillsdale and Aragon after holding off the third team from the city of San Mateo in the Bearcats.

The game got off to slow start, with the teams combining for 12 first-quarter points, with the teams tied at 15-all at halftime.
They were still tied after both teams scored 13 points in the third before Woodside (6-2 PAL Ocean, 9-9 overall) outscored San Mateo (2-6, 9-11) 15-8 in the final eight minutes of the game.
The Wildcats were led by their “Big Two” — Luke Grech scored a game-high 14 points while Marco Antoninio added 13.
The Bearcats got 12 points from Bryan Ehlerman and 11 from Daniel Villeda.

The Scots handed the Bears their first PAL Bay Division loss in nearly two years, putting a dent into their hopes of earning an automatic CCS qualifying bid.
The top three teams in the Bay Division receive playoff bids. M-A (3-1-5, PAL Bay, 14 points; 5-5-5 overall) currently sits in fourth place.
Ian Sijbrant score the game’s only goal in the second half for Carlmont (3-4-2, 11 points; 4-6-4), off an assist from Jayden Lee. The Scots were the last Bay Division team to beat, 2-0 Feb. 7, 2024.
