Marin Catholic 58, Menlo School 46
The Lady Knights (10-1) had their 10-game undefeated streak snapped on the road in non-league action at Marin Catholic (9-7). It was the final non-league preseason tuneup before Menlo opens West Bay Athletic League play Tuesday at home against Notre Dame-Belmont. The 10-game winning streak was Menlo’s best since 2019-20. It is the program’s best start since at least 2004-05.
Summit Shasta 44, El Camino 23
Niesha Ramirez recorded a magnificent double-double, totaling 22 points and 25 rebounds to lead the Black Bears (4-4) in non-league against at El Camino (7-7). The rebounding total is a new career-high for the 5-8 senior. She previously totaled a career-best a week earlier with 23 points and 20 rebounds in Shasta’s 52-38 victory over South City. Ramirez added two assists, three steals and two blocked shots against EC. Sophomore Chloe Macario added eight points and a team-high four steals.

Woodside (5-7) finished off a busy week with a 2-2 record after falling 56-48 at home to Scotts Valley.
Mills broke a three-game losing streak with a 55-41 win at home against Windsor (7-9).
Menlo-Atherton (8-5) got back in the win column with a 52-43 non-league win at crosstown Sacred Heart Prep (7-4).
Mercy-Burlingame (5-1) won its fourth straight 54-37 at home over San Francisco Christian (1-3).
Crystal Springs (5-1) allowed just four points in the first half en route to a 41-15 non-league win at home over University Prep-San Jose (4-3).

Sacred Heart Prep 60, Sequoia 51
Trailing 26-25 at the half, the Gators (4-4) went on a 13-8 run in the third quarter to claim a non-league win at home over Sequoia (5-6). Senior forward Alex Straser scored a team-high 18 points to go with six rebounds for SHP, while junior Alex Osterloh totaled 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Senior forward Jackson Selcher added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Crystal Springs (6-6) snapped a three-game losing streak, evening up its record in a nail-biter with a 55-53 victory at home over University Prep-San Jose (9-3).
El Camino (9-4) got back in the win column with a 73-60 non-league win at home over Summit Shasta (8-3).

Boys’ basketball
Mitty 67, Serra 57
The Padres (0-2 WCAL, 9-3 overall) led 51-44 heading into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold off Mitty (2-0, 9-3) at Morton Family Gymnasium. It’s the second straight loss to start West Catholic Athletic League after notching a 9-1 non-league mark to start the year for Serra. Senior forward Mikey Ballout led the Padres with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Junior guard Wyatt Blanco added 11 points, and senior forward Alton Robenault scored 10.
Serra is now set to host Riordan — ranked No. 1 in the Central Coast Section — Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Carlmont 70, Half Moon Bay 56
The Scots (2-0 PAL Bay, 5-7 overall) pulled off the biggest upset of the opening week of PAL Bay Division play, stunning Half Moon Bay (0-1, 8-4) on its home court. Asher Meighen’s game-high 21 points was not enough for the Cougars, as Carlmont rode a balanced effort from its big three. Senior guard Camden Ngo drilled three 3-pointers to score a team-high 19 points, while seniors Franklin Kuo and Jeremiah Phillips scored 17 points apiece. Gio Garduno-Martin added 12 points for HMB.
Menlo-Atherton 77, Hillsdale 57
Senior Trevor Cadigan poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Bears (2-0 PAL Bay, 9-3 overall) to the win on their home court against Hillsdale (0-2, 5-9). Cadigan knocked down five 3-pointers, while junior Jerry Williams added two to score 17 points. Junior guard Sebastian Avina scored a team-high 15 points for Hillsdale, and junior Freeman Lane added 13.
Burlingame 62, Jefferson 51
The Panthers (1-1 PAL Bay, 6-8 overall) earned their first league win of the season with a balanced effort at Jefferson (1-1, 9-4). Sophomore David Parrot led Burlingame with 18 points, while senior Marcus Tapia scored 14, junior Lucca Maher scored 13, and junior Jean-Luc Uharriet scored nine. The Grizzlies were paced by Esteban Deleon, who matched the game-high with 18 points, while Michael Slugher added 10.
Aragon 53, Westmoor 35

The Dons (2-0 PAL Ocean, 7-5 overall) opened on an 18-3 tear in the first quarter and never looked back, rolling to a big win at Westmoor (0-2, 2-11). Senior Jasper Caffo scored a game-high 16 points for Aragon, including two 3-pointers for the 6-6 forward, while senior Augusten Goldman added 10 points. Westmoor senior Geordy Zhao scored a team-high 10 points.
Sequoia 69, Capuchino 43
Leading 19-18 after the first quarter, the Ravens (2-0 PAL Ocean, 5-5 overall) went on a 27-5 run in the second to roll to victory at Capuchino (0-2, 6-6). Junior guard Isaiah Hahn Tapper scored a game-high 14 points for Sequoia, while senior Charlie Fulton added 12. The Mustangs were paced by Matthew Alas with 12 points.
Mills 58, Oceana 41
Senior guard Jefriel Bacorro scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Vikings (1-1 PAL Ocean, 3-11 overall) to the win at Oceana (0-2, 9-4). Senior guard Tyler Ngo added 10 points for Mills. Senior guard Luis Manuel scored a team-high 22 points for the Sharks.
Terra Nova 86, South City 50
The Tigers (2-0 PAL Ocean, 5-5 overall) recorded their highest single-game point total since 2019-20 with a big home win over South City (1-1, 9-3). Led by 21 points from senior guard Chase Russel, Terra Nova scored 20 or more points in each quarter. Sophomore guard Jesse Martinez added 14 points for the Tigers, and senior Cody Anderton scored 11. South City’s Isaac Stamper scored a team-high 17 points.

Menlo School (10-4) earned its 10th win of the year 65-55 at home in non-league play against Scotts Valley (6-8).

Hillsdale 49, Menlo-Atherton 41
The Lady Knights (2-0 PAL Bay, 12-1 overall) won their sixth straight in a key matchup at home against Menlo-Atherton (1-1, 7-5). Junior forward Daniella Sierra recorded a double-double with a game-high 15 points and 12 rebounds for Hillsdale, while junior Kiara Nitao hit three 3-pointers to add 11 points. Junior Molly Gray scored a team-high nine points for M-A.
Half Moon Bay 71, Carlmont 42
Four Cougars scored in double figures, led by 22 points from junior center Zoey Lemoge, as Half Moon Bay (2-0 PAL Bay, 10-2 overall) cruised to its third straight win at home over Carlmont (0-1, 6-6). Freshman Makena Glynn added 15 points, junior Xochitl Nieves scored 10, and senior Delaney Dorwin recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with seven assists. Senior point guard Willow Ishibashi-To hit four 3-pointers to score a team-high 19 points for the Lady Scots. Glynn drilled a game-high five 3s for HMB.
Aragon 42, Westmoor 23
The Lady Dons (1-1 PAL Bay, 5-8 overall) earned their first PAL Bay Division win of the season at Westmoor (0-2, 7-4). Junior guard Daisy Pantoja Beltran scored a team-high 16 points for Aragon, while junior Jayda Parangan added nine. Sophomore guard Jhacelyn Capistrano scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady Rams, who are still without senior guard Grace Wang, due to injury.
San Mateo 41, Terra Nova 36
The Bearcats (2-0 PAL Ocean, 10-4 overall) trailed 26-24 heading into the fourth quarter, but finished on a 17-10 run to win it at Terra Nova (1-1, 8-5). Sophomore Kaitlyn Schuh led the way with a team-high 15 points for San Mateo. The Tigers were paced by a game-high 16 points from sophomore guard Reese Kelley.
Burlingame 54, Sequoia 29
The Panthers (2-0 PAL Ocean, 7-4 overall) opened on a 20-4 run and cruised to their fourth straight win at Sequoia (1-1, 3-8). Three Burlingame players scored in double figures, with senior Hailey Miller leading the way with a game-high 16 points. Adeline Uhrich added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, while Haleh Ansari added 11. Sophomore forward Lucy Biancalana led Sequoia with six points.
El Camino 38, Jefferson 35
Senior guard Chelsea Basco scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Lady Colts (2-0 PAL Ocean, 7-6 overall) to victory at Jefferson (0-2, 2-8). Freshman guard Isabella Fernandez drilled two 3-pointers to add 10 points for El Camino, while junior Keilani Der added eight points. Junior center Aailyah Hall led the Grizzlies with 10 points, and senior Kaley Panaligan added nine.
Oceana 43, South City 39
Senior forward Alamea Lewis scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Sharks (1-1 PAL Ocean, 2-8 overall) to a home win over South City (0-2, 5-8). Senior Kelani Cheng added 12 points for Oceana. South City was led by sophomore Chloe Wong’s 15 points, while junior Liala Kinchen added 10.
Woodside 42, Capuchino 38
The Wildcats (1-1 PAL Ocean, 5-6 overall) took a 24-15 lead into the half, and held off a late surge to to win it at Capuchino (0-2, 6-5). Freshman guard Lyla Rich led Woodside, splashing down for six 3-pointers to total a team-high 18 points. The Lady Mustangs were led by senior forward Sophia Cacianti with 14 points.
Nueva School 29, Pacific Bay Christian 27
Junior center Julia Randolph pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds to lead the Mavericks (3-6) to a non-league victory at Pacific Bay Christian (3-4). Randolph totaled 11 defensive boards and six on the offensive glass, while adding six points, two steals and three blocked shots. Sophomore Willa Beard added 10 points and four steals for Nueva, while sophomore Anjali Mariathasan matched the team-high of four steals.

Notre Dame-Belmont (11-1) ran into its toughest customer of the season, falling 46-31 in non-league play at Harker (11-2). The loss snaps an 11-game winning streak to start the year for the Tigers.
