Ericka Dorn, a sophomore out of Westmoor, captured the Northern California California community college cross country championship to qualify for the state meet Saturday in Fresno.
Ericka Dorn, with Coast Conference and Northern California individual cross country titles in hand, heads to the 3C2A state finals at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno.
As a freshman in 2024, Dorn was third in Northern California and 15th in the state finals.
The College of San Mateo sophomore, out of Westmoor High School, is undefeated against all Nor Cal competition this season. She won the North championship on the 5,000 meter Woodward Park course in 18 minutes, 23 seconds earlier this month. Dorn also received Northern California athlete of the week honors from the state coaches association.
She led a pair of teammates to top-10 finishes at NorCals — all qualifying for the state finals. Sophomore Deia Kerseg-Foreman (Half Moon Bay) placed sixth in 19:07 and freshman Lina Cruz Parada (Aragon) was eighth (19:20). All three received All-Northern California honors. They were the only CSM women runners in the meet.
The CSM men were led by freshman Colin Williams (Westmoor), who qualified for the state finals, finishing 48th on the four-mile men’s course in 22:37. The Bulldog men placed 12th in the Nor Cal meet with 307 points. Other finishers were: 60th, Nathan Loof (Half Moon Bay), 23:17; 67th, Mariano Beas (South San Francisco), 23:40; 68th, Tai Nakagawa ( Hillsdale), 23:51; 80th, Cassius Greene (Mills), 24:36; and Felix Venaricio Lascarez (Colusa), 25:32.
