Thank you for the recent coverage on the very important work our local nonprofits do to help the homeless of our county build their self-sufficiency. I recognized however that not all agencies have been acknowledge in their work. In total there are four agencies who serve our county's homeless. The provider agencies are:
1. Shelter Network, which provides the greatest number of shelter services, serves both families and individuals at their six sites throughout the county.
2. Clara Mateo also serves families and individuals.
3. Center for Domestic Violence Prevention serves women and children who have been victims of domestic violence.
4. Safe Harbor, a collaborative of SamTrans, the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency and Samaritan House serves adults.
