I stated in a letter to the Daily Journal on Sept. 30 that Democrats would lose in the Electoral College. But how could a “despised” past president and felon have been reelected president by three “blue wall states” along with the popular vote and higher voting participation from Hispanic and Black people? Part of the answer is “lawfare” against Trump backfired and Kamala was tied to the highest inflation in 40 years and the highest immigration level ever.
Even so, Kamala started out with a remarkable performance running for office but her failure to answer key questions directly wore thin. Also, people object to the Democrats’ social agenda in general that scolds people as racists and bigots when they aren’t.
The DNC has no one to blame but themselves for selecting the wrong candidate. Kamala placed too much emphasis on an "Orange Man Bad!" campaign strategy instead of telling us how she would move our country forward. When asked what she would do differently... than the Biden administration of which she was a big part... her response was, "Nothing comes to mind." Maybe there was some context we didn't get, but the thought of more high prices, more unchecked migration, and more crime was too much.
Neither candidate was very likeable. So, if voters made their choice on policy, let's put the focus on bringing down prices, securing the border, and reducing crime. That will be more challenging if we see a replay of Trump's first term by progressives.
Thanks for your letter, Mr. Kahl, and your previous letter of September 30 predicting the election for Trump. Your predictions were accurate and I’d say, your after-election analysis is also on the mark. There’s another narrative which promotes the idea that the mainstream media has lost their impact and their influence. I’d agree because a few AP articles published today attempt to feebly throw shade at Trump while completely ignoring the fact that Harris led a flawed and undemocratic campaign. We can hope that the AP and other leftist media become objective but as far as I know, there’s still no cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Well SD62 - at least we have a president who has made promises. With Kamala she had no viable plans at all and we would not have to worry at all about delivering on non-existent promises. Did you mean boarder or border? We have 12 million boarders who sneaked into our country while Kamala was cackling.
So, SD62 and anna kuhre, it sounds like you both agree that Kamala was a terrible choice? BTW, a choice that was foisted on Democrats (not much democracy in the Democrat party)? Look at the bright side, the “better of two evils” won and there’s no way Trump can do worse than Biden. Unless Trump decides to kneel (affectionately known as “a Biden”) and gift Israel to Hamas terrorists.

The race baiting back fired! Anna Kuhre
I agree, Ed.

Thanks - that nails it!
Two terrible choices, we have to be better. I have little confidence that Trump can deliver on his promises other than closing the boarder.
340Million people in the United States and these two candidates are the best we could do in 2024????????

Perhaps too many people too stupid to realize how dangerous Trump would be with a second term and Putin's hold on him?
