Editor,

If I understand correctly, Desmond Tuck describes “Globalize the intifada” as a term used for genocide of the Jewish people. My question is, what about the Palestinian people? What is going on right now with the destruction of Gaza, misplacing millions of Palestinians, destroying their country, killing thousands of innocent women and children — all in the name of defeating Hamas? This is genocide too. No country, nation, government has the right to kill innocent people. The so-called self-defense is just another description of war. Communication, understanding and peace among all countries and nations would be the much better resolution.

The Palestinian people can only gain peace by defeating Hamas in their midst. Hamas is an Iranian proxy that seeks to destroy Israel no matter the cost to Palestinians. Just prior to the war, Palestine had reached its highest level of prosperity from increasing trade with Israel and the Saudi Arabia. Iran backed Hamas started the war to prevent this.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Thiel, but you conveniently forget that Hamas initiated hostilities, with their massacre of over 1200 innocent people while also taking hostages, holding some to this day. Hamas and their Palestinian supporters made their bed so they must now lie in it. It takes two to tango and if Hamas is unwilling to release all hostages and surrender unconditionally, they’ll get no sympathy. But hey, if you can get Hamas to communicate and understand, good luck. Otherwise more power to Netanyahu to finish his mission – however long it takes.
