Editor,
Regarding “California turning its back on wind energy” in the Dec. 3 edition of the Daily Journal, I was surprised to find how easy it is to have 100 percent of my electricity at home come from clean energy sources. I upgraded to ECO100 using Peninsula Clean Energy (still through PG&E). For this, I pay 1 cent per kilowatt-hour extra, which have maxed out at $3 per month in the winter in my standard-sized home. Currently, the sources of this clean power are 50 percent wind and 50 percent solar. And if I retire my beloved 13-year-old hybrid and go electric, I can reduce my carbon footprint further by using a home charger. I like having options that give me the power to do something about climate change.
