Editor,

This is for the Democrats that have been writing in about how or where Republicans are getting their news. Have you people lost your minds? Or do you have amnesia?

Good morning, Rel

I tried to post this earlier, but it got garbled in translation... probably operator error.

Walz? I'm sorry. I guess you just forgot. A lengthy discussion between us on the subject of Walz's radicalism is in the archives.

Smears? In your post earlier today, you describe readers who do not share your point of view as hypocritical right-wing cultists. According to you, they mindlessly deflect what you believe the truth to be… a truth that fails to recognize the left’s foreign policy disasters and the crises at home created by the left.

In the weeks prior to the 2024 election, another reader on the left side of the aisle wrote me saying he was worried about violence from the right if Trump did not win on Nov. 5. I told him… win or lose… Trump’s supporters would not riot. Then I added… quite presciently if I do say so myself… when the left loses in 2024, they will bring violence to our streets. After watching Antifa violence then witnessing American cities being overrun and burned in the summer of 2020, it really didn’t take a crystal ball to predict what the left would do this year. Hamas supporters waving Palestinian flags while calling for another Jewish Holocaust. And this week, LA became the most recent example of the left’s violence. Violence that has been described as good old fashioned “exuberance” on the part of persons starting fires in the streets and assaulting police officers.

The left cannot handle rejection. We see that being played out in the left’s aggression, it’s lack of empathy, and the failure of self-control.

No, I don’t make the rules in this forum… that’s up to Jon. However, I can choose to avoid opinions from others based on feelings instead of facts. I’ll start right now. Adieu mon frère.

Rel

So Ray, you decry several things about the left of which the right has played out in larger fashion.

One: violence in the streets. So, 1/6 was a forgotten smite on our history with more actions against our government.

Rejection?: You mean like the rejection of our votes by Trump in the 2020 election to which he has not yet ceded.

Lack of empathy: like deporting a 4 year old with cancer out of the country without due process? Like terminating USAID programs around the world that saves thousands of lives?

Failure of self control: you mean like the back and forth between two spoiled oligarchs like Musk and Trump?

Notice these are facts I am posing not just opinions. For every leftist transgression, I can give you greater sad examples from the right.

Ray Fowler

Adieu mon frère...

Terence Y

Rel, there you go again…trying to blame your insurrection on our (yes, our) great President Trump while failing to acknowledge Pelosi’s dereliction of duty to protect the Capitol. If you’re willing to lie about easily uncovered facts, what else are you willing to lie about? For every “rightist” transgression, our dear readers can give you greater sad examples from the left. To wit, an endless treasure trove, with treasonous Biden and Biden’s America Last policies. And then of course, we have Biden/autopen.

Rel

This is for all the right wing cultists who are hypocritically concerned about Democrats and their news sources. Have you people lost your minds? Do you have selective amnesia?

Neil, your letter is nothing more than mindless deflection from the true issues of the day. You decry Democratic lies while conveniently ignore the Trump daily fabrications in order to keep the focus of the news cycle. Trump ignores the Constitution by denying birthright citizenship and running slipshod over due process rights. Republicans say nothing. Trump accepts a $400M plane and again the right says nothing. Trump sells audiences to people who buy millions in his cyrptocurrency exchange. Republicans say butkus. Trump installs illegal tariffs and uses the Justice department for retribution and again the right barely mentions a peep.

What is truly laughable is your defense of Fox news as telling the truth for years. You mean the Fox that paid three fourths of a billion dollars in fines for lying? The one that admitted it did not tell the news and wrote to keep its audience? One can't make this stuff up..

Finally, you close by saying Republicans have common sense. Please show us an example. Trump added $8T to the debt in his first term, at that time 25% of new debt to the existing total. Biden added half as much as Trump in his four years. The Republicans howled about increasing the debt during his administration. Now Trump wants to add $3T in new spending, mostly to enrich himself and his rich friends. Oh, it is Big and Beautiful! Common sense?

If the Republicans truly had common sense, they would impeach the traitorous, corrupt, evil, chaotic, stupidity of Trump immediately while we still have a country left.

Hi, Rell

Well... there you go again.

Last Tuesday, I posted the following in response to remarks made by you that are strikingly similar to your comments today. Here we go... "it appears you consistently offer up leftist media outlets’ talking points… again and again. I’m wondering… can you once take an issue that resonates with you personally and present it in a way that does not include smear tactics? Leave out the labels and tell us why a Trump policy is wrong or unproductive. I felt we were in the same place last year in the weeks before the 2024 election. I asked you to 'pick a topic, state your POV, toss in some research and send it along.' I’m asking again."

BTW... do you remember now saying Tim Walz is not a radical?

Rel

Well, Ray, there you go again. My talking points have little to do with media outlets and more to do with pure observation. All of the issues presented here effect me personally just as it effects all voters. I served my country in the military and I took an oath to uphold the Constitution. I expect no less from my Commander-in-Chief. But, Trump is making a mockery of his office and the Constitution every day and I will not be silent. If this strikes you as consistent, so be it. And, by the way, tell me what appears to you as smear tactics when I am telling the truth? Secondly, you don't make the rules in this forum. Finally, what have I presented today that you feel is factually challenged? When you posit an issue of true gravity to the country, I will gladly expound on it.

P.S. No, I don't remember talking about Tim Walz being a radical, but I don't believe he is. Why does it matter so much to you? Is there a salient point to be made that pertains to this current administration? Do you think Trump or J.D. Vance are radicial?

Mike O.

Ray;

It is so sad and pathetic to see you still continue your selective memory and denial of the facts and truths about Trump that is in the news every single day. Forget asking for Rel's POV with some research to back it up. The facts are in plain view everyday. It is you that has the blinders on regarding the truth. Don't try to pin the your blind ignorance on someone else.

Dirk van Ulden

Hello Mike O. - the louder you deny blind ignorance, the louder you indict yourself. It is mostly your side that suffers from selective memory and stuffing facts under the rug. Sorry, but even the former WH press secretary is now acknowledging what you are trying to cover up. Aren't we running out of dead horses by now?

Ray Fowler

Good morning, Michael O.

Leading with ad hominem. Sorry, but I will not repay you in kind.

Let’s go to the record...

It doesn’t appear you truck in the facts you claim, “are in plain view everyday.” Do you remember your LTE that suggested DJ readers can possibly find common ground through the exchange of ideas supported by facts and evidence? I agree with you, but we have not seen most of the DJ’s left leaning readers put that into practice. Let me give you one example. You asked another reader to “please tell us what Trump accomplished.” I responded to you with a list of 17 different accomplishments. You ignored the list and your silence, noted by another reader, was deafening. Where was the exchange of ideas supported by facts and evidence?

I unequivocally condemned the Jan. 6 riots, but I’m really curious to hear what left leaning DJ readers have to say about the riots in LA this week other that more chanting of “Orange Man Bad!” With respect to Trump’s net approval rating re: immigration, CNN reported there has been a swing from -21 around this time in Trump’s first term to +1 now. A CNN poll reported a majority of Americans endorse Trump’s policy of mass deportations. The left’s position in response seems to be their now familiar policy standby… violence.

I wrote to Rel earlier this morning, “… I don’t make the rules in this forum… that’s up to Jon. However, I can choose to avoid opinions from others based on feelings instead of facts."

So, I will also bid you, “Adieu mon frère.”

Mike O.

Rel;

Great response! Telling the right-wing Trump supporters about their own hypocrisy and selective memory is the only way to fight against these liars.

Jorg

Democrats lying about WHAT?

Terence Y

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Wild. I assume your questions are rhetorical. Fortunately the ones who hate Trump more than they love America have no credibility, as evidenced by LTEs and comments at the DJ. Many of these folks still attempt to blame Trump for a so-called insurrection knowing that that narrative has been thoroughly debunked. These folks don’t seem to realize that if they’re going to lie about that, then their assertions can’t be taken seriously. If these folks will lie about the little things, who knows what else they’ll lie about? I’d say just about everything. Orange man bad-related or not.

Meanwhile, these folks don’t realize, or don’t want to realize, that Trump is the greatest President in their lifetimes. Twice. I'm looking forward to the continued exposure of the Biden/autopen cover-up by Democrat supporters and investigations into the Biden administration for their crimes against Trump and Americans. Also looking forward to more of the Biden tour of the mainstream media – to continually embarrass Dems.

Dirk van Ulden

Hey Terence - " to continually embarrass Dems" don't hold your breath. They are not even apologizing for the mess that they created that is now manifested in LA. They blame that on Trump as well. You can't make it up.

Ray Fowler

Hi, Dirk

Are you referring to what's been called by the left "peaceful" protests in LA?

Dirk van Ulden

Yes, Ray, those are as "peaceful" as I am an AOC supporter.

Mike O.

TY, here we go again, more right-wing nonsense, ignorance and selective memory, how sad and pathetic it is to read you write the same lame lies.

Terence Y

Here we go again, Mike O. with his personal attacks, accusing others of his shortcomings. But a reminder… let’s not forget this is the Mike O. who doesn’t want to accept the facts (even by the left wing press) that Obama put kids in cages and Pelosi, through her admitted dereliction of duty, failed to protect the Capitol from his so-called insurrection. This is the Mike O. who doesn’t believe the US Constitution protects individual liberties when everyone under the sun can quickly and easily do a simple search for “does the constitution protect individual liberties.” Yep, protects individual liberties. If Mike O. is willing to lie about the little things…how can Mike O. be taken seriously?
