Summertime makes for an interesting mixture of people on the local avenues, Third and Burlingame, that is. With the new Century cinema and arguably the best outdoor shopping in the area, San Mateo and Burlingame are teeming with people of all ages. Now that school is out and the weather is nice, teenagers from the local high schools tend to flock together in downtown San Mateo and Burlingame while many extended families are out with baby strollers. This is the time when we must be most respectful of one another.

So, teens and adults: if you're walking with a large group of people, try separating into groups of two or three, rather than moving as one massive herd. Others around you may be in a rush and don't want to have to walk in the street to get by you and your groupies. The ants went marching two by two, I'm sure you can manage to as well.
