Richard Quintana, born June 18, 1933, in Durango, Colorado, to Augustine and Marie T. Quintana, died Dec. 29, 2018, at the age of 85.
A 1950 graduate of Mission High School. Served proudly as a U.S. Army MP in Germany. A machinist with American Can Company and shop supervisor for more than 30, later with Kelsey Hayes, Dahl-Beck Electric, Bayshore Truck and Equipment and finally See’s Candies.
Member of the National Rifle Association, Republican Party and avid hunter, fisher and outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing from the Pacific Ocean to the Rocky Mountains. His passion was pursuing black tail deer in California and mule deer in Idaho and Colorado.
Survived by his wife Maria E. Quintana; son Richard (Regina) Quintana; son Quintin (Anne) Quintana, all of San Bruno, California; daughter Karen (Omar) Kappl, Munster, Germany. Tata loved his grandchildren Richard, Regina, Diego, Quinlyn, Rayna Quin, Quintin Jr., Andrea and Stephanie and his great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, with the 7 p.m. vigil service at the Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive at El Camino Real in Millbrae. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 am, Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Robert’s Catholic Church, 1380 Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno. Interment, Greenmount Cemetery, Durango, Colorado.
