Cora Jean passed away March 5,2024 on her 95th birthday from cancer of the bladder. She is preceded in death by her daughter Sarah Lou Kleppe (2007) and survived by her sister Sally Lou Bernstein (San Mateo), her sons Peter Kleppe (San Mateo and William Kleppe (Reno NV), as well as grandsons Kevin Kleppe (Michelle) of San Ramon and David Kleppe (Haley) of Citrus Heights.
Cora Jean was born on March 5,1929 in Bismarck ND. She developed her affection with horses there and in Williston ND. She finished high school at Stephens in Columbia MO and then attended the University of Missouri also in Colombia. Next it was off to New York City where she attended the Tobe Coburn School of Fashion and briefly worked for Power Modeling Agency.
Moved to California with the family in 1965. Went back to college at Notre Dame University in Belmont CA and received her teaching degree. Then for 30 years she taught in the SMFCSD mainly at Bowditch Middle School in Foster City.
She kept herself busy in life with her roses and the many friends she met in DAR, Republican Women and the American Legion. “Just like mom to pass away on her birthday”
Services will be held at the Saint Joseph Parish Church, 770 N El Camino Real, San Mateo on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
