Gary Yount, age 84, a longtime resident of San Mateo, passed away on September 4, 2018. He was born July 27, 1923 in Palo Alto, the son of Clarence and Adah Yount. Gary attended Palo Alto schools and graduated San Jose State University. He served in the US Air Force and he enjoyed a long career with AT & T; he was a member of the Masonic Lodge; a passionate reader and life long learner with an interest in world history, Gary regularly attended classes at Stanford University until his recent illness.
He is survived by his son, Robert Yount, of Truckee, and grandson, Jacob Yount, and by two dear friends, Anna and Maurice Golding.
A gathering for friends will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Crosby – N. Gray & Co. Funeral Home, 2 Park Road, Burlingame. Interment will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery.
