Anne Mary Childs

Anne Mary Childs, born July 5, 1921 as Anne Mary Kotowicz, passed away June 28, 2018. Born in Syracuse, New York, to John and Mary Kotowicz with brothers John and Joseph. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eve Kotowicz, her nieces Lin, Nancy and Carol, her son-in-law, Greg Schleicher, her daughter, Marianne Schleicher, her grandson, Brendan Duffy, and her soon to be granddaughter-in-law, Danae Azevedo. Anne was the matriarch of the family for many, many years and fiercely loved and protected each family member.

Anne was hard of hearing from an early age due to a fall that caused irreparable nerve deafness, and she made the most of her handicap. She attended the Rochester School for the Deaf, which gave her the tools needed to have a full life with her hearing loss.
