Adele Caroline Stone, who celebrated her 100th birthday Sept. 29, 2018, died Dec. 16, 2018.
Preceded in death by her husband Bernhard (Barney) Stone, Adele is survived by her son Craig (Joan) and her daughter Donna (David). She is also survived by her grandchildren Megan and Colin (Becca).
Adele was born and raised in San Francisco, attended Lowell High School and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in May 1941. She met Barney at Cal and they married in June 1941. Adele and Barney moved to Redwood City in 1955 where they raised their family. Adele lived in the family home for 63 years, until her death. Adele was very proud of her career as an elementary school teacher in Redwood City and throughout her life would light up whenever she talked about teaching and her former students.
In retirement, Adele enjoyed volunteering at Filoli, gardening, fishing, needlework, her dog Brumis, her many friends and neighbors and being a devoted grandma to Megan and Colin.
