The California Fast Food Workers Union is urging the state to again raise the minimum wage for fast-food employees.

According to a letter sent to the statewide Fast Food Council last month, the union is asking for a $20.70 wage starting in 2025 and a $21.40 wage in 2026. The proposed yearly 3.5% increase is a response to rising inflation, the letter said.

Not So Common

Cause and effect, one reaps what one sows, socialism doesn’t work. When the government dictates, what a business must pay, then someone else has to pay, either the employee or the consumer. And in this case, it’s both. The solution, go to school at night, learn English, get a degree, and then find a job that pays more,. And please don’t have more children while you’re struggling

Hey workers, you should realize the California Fast Food Workers Union had a part of the pickle you’re now in. What do you think is going to happen when big cheeses must give more lettuce to workers? Consumers are only going to stomach so much and stop dining out – yes, even at fast food places if prices rise too high. Good luck to you – at least you still have a job while many of your colleagues in the industry have been let go because businesses have gone belly up. BTW, I wonder if union dues increased.
