A woman who allegedly participated in the robbery of a 7-Eleven store in San Mateo has pleaded no contest to being an accessory in the crime, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Amber Zarate, 20, of Sunnyvale, was accused of being a getaway driver for her boyfriend, Benicio Bustamante, at the 7-Eleven on 11 Laurie Meadows Drive on April 6, 2021.
A Belmont police officer saw the car flee and called for backup, with Zarate later arrested. Bustamante faces robbery and felony firearm charges. Zarate will get 60 days in county jail and two years probation.
