Police say a 24-year-old Redwood City resident and a teenager were arrested and charged with felony vandalism early Saturday morning after more than 36 cars were found with their tires slashed.
A police spokesman said a citizen called shortly after midnight Sunday to report that two people were slashing tires on Stambaugh Street and in the surrounding area. Officers on the scene saw two people fleeing the scene who matched the caller's description.
An adult, 24-year-old Laulea Alauna Manoahlotu, was eventually found hiding in an apartment building's hallways, and a 17-year-old was found a short time later running through backyards.
More than 36 cars have been found in the area so far with a total of 59 tires slashed. In addition, the juvenile suspect allegedly walked across one car from the trunk to the hood, leaving shoe impressions.<
