The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office responded to 901 10th Ave. in San Mateo on report of skeletal remains found by a construction crew.
Nick Rose/Daily JournalA construction crew found skeletal remains under a San Mateo home Friday afternoon, though it’s not clear yet whether the bones are human, police said.
The workers were digging a trench under a home in the 900 block of 10th Avenue when they found a skeleton and called police around 12:26 p.m., according to Sgt. Al Baccei.
“The bones had been there for a long time. We don’t know if they are human or not,” Baccei said.
The Coroner’s Office went to the house and will take control of the bones and determine if they are those of a human being, Baccei said.
