A 19-year-old man working as an after-school aide at an elementary school in San Carlos was arrested Monday after allegedly inappropriately touching two young girls, San Mateo County sheriff's officials said today.
Hoang Tran
Detectives began investigating Hoang Tran, an Emerald Hills resident, in September after a 6-year-old girl said Tran had inappropriately touched her while he worked as a program aide at the after-school program at Brittan Acres Elementary School.
After the disclosure, officials at the school at 2000 Belle Ave. placed Tran on leave. He did not return to the position and was released as an employee by the San Carlos School District, sheriff's officials said.
During the investigation, a 7-year-old girl also came forward and said Tran had allegedly inappropriately touched her at some point in the beginning of the school year, according to the Sheriff's Office.
At about 11 a.m. Monday, detectives met with Tran and arrested him at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City.
The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about it is encouraged to contact Detective Jesse Myers at (650) 363-4050 or jrmyers@smcgov.org. People can also call the sheriff's anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.
Please don't destroy this man until beyond a reasonable doubt that he is guilty. May or May Not be guilty. A lot going on in this krazy place at this time. Anybody over 50 who is aware of anything should remember the McMartin preschool case that savaged the defendants. As you could figure out, the kids were coached on their answers and a lot more. Such a sad conclusion.
