Charles K. Lim MD, is the new physician in chief at the Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center and will lead and oversee the physicians and clinical care delivery operations that serve patients and members at the Redwood City Medical Center and San Mateo Medical Offices, the health care nonprofit announced.

Lim, an orthopedic surgeon, joined Kaiser Permanente Redwood City in 2002. Lim previously served as chief of orthopedics. Lim was born in Myanmar and grew up in the Boston area. He earned a bachelor’s degree with highest honors in biochemistry and molecular biology at Harvard College, received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine, and he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
