Joe Perry might be the most unassuming player in collegiate baseball.
Perry, shuffling between roles on the San Francisco State squad as a catcher, first baseman, and left fielder during his senior season, batted an astounding .445 for the Gators, third highest in school history. Last year, as a junior, he hit .378.
But that's not all.
Perry, 22, also holds the school record for highest career average (.413) and highest total number of hits for a season (89 in 53 games), and ranks among the top 10 in school history in hits (fourth), runs (ninth), doubles (third), and runs batted in (10th).
Oh, and by the way, he is being heavily considered for baseball All American honors. But when you listen to the guy, you would think he just picked up the game the other day.
