HAYWARD — A man found dead in a Hayward hotel hallway Thursday has been identified as Mark Mallory Holland, 33, of Hayward, a spokesman for the Alameda County coroner’s office said today. Holland was found dead after guests several guests of the Phoenix Lodge at 2286 Industrial Parkway W. were awoken by the sound of gunfire and called police around 3 a.m.

Arriving Hayward police officers found the victim in a second-floor hallway and interviewed several guests who reported hearing an argument before the shooting, Lt. Reid Lindblom said Thursday.
