A sketch of a man who fired a fatal shot at a 30-year-old San Francisco man in front of a San Mateo karaoke bar Thursday morning was released by the San Mateo Police Department Friday.
Wei Cheng Ma of Daly City was shot with a handgun in front of the Aqua Sound KTV Karaoke club in the 273 S. Railroad Ave. around 2 a.m. Thursday morning, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect is described as an Asian man, about 28 years old, 5 feet 10 to 11 inches tall, weighing about 165 to 170 pounds, with black hair, dark eyes and a light complexion, according to police.
He is believed to have fled the scene in a 2001 to 2003 yellow two-door Honda with a loud muffler. The personalized license plate may be similar to WEI FET, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Ma had recently moved to an apartment in Daly City from his parents' home in San Francisco, which had led to conflicting reports of his residence yesterday, Thomas Marriscolo of the San Mateo County Coroner's Office said Friday.

A police investigation revealed that just prior to the shooting, words were exchanged between two groups of people who were in separate guest rooms at the karaoke club, according to a police report.
The argument led to a physical fight between several members of each group. The fight spilled into the street where the suspect shot the victim before fleeing the scene, police said.
This is the 19th homicide in San Mateo County this year.
A coroner's spokesman said earlier this week that homicides are up 33 percent in the county this year. There were a total of 23 homicides in 2003.
