• The San Carlos Planning Commission will review plans to demolish the 29-room Hotel San Carlos at 26 El Camino Real and build a 104-room Hyatt Place hotel in its place. Though the property owner and developer for the 27,495-square-foot site at the corner of Spring Street and El Camino Real will not change, a four-story structure with ground-level and below-ground parking is expected to replace the two-story building and ground-level parking that currently stands there. The developer is proposing a building with contemporary architecture and enhanced landscaping on the sides of the property facing the street.
