Dear Bay City News Service - This report is not informative other than the fact it took about 24 hours to completely put out the fire.
We don't know what burning sheet rock smells like, but we know what burning wood smells like. And unless it was fiber board filled with glue, that smelled like a lot of plastics and rubber. There has to be a lot more to this story. And we neighbors intend to get more details. We're working on a meeting with RecologySF looking for answers to Q's about 1) how to prevent these types of fires, 2) how to put them out far sooner if they happen, 3) how to notify neighbors what's going on in a timely manner, 4) how to provide more timely updates if a fire takes many hours to put out as this one did.
