San Mateo County sheriff detectives are searching today for a person who killed an East Palo Alto man over the weekend, possibly during a robbery.
Authorities said someone called 911 from a home in the 2000 block of Menalto Avenue at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday reporting a man dead inside a trailer parked in the backyard.
An autopsy yesterday found the middle-aged man died of apparent strangulation. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Homicide investigators do not have any suspects however they believe the man may have been killed during a robbery. The victim's car is missing and neighbors say no one but the victim drove it.
The car is a white four-door 19865 Audi 5000 with California license plates 2XFF245.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact investigating detectives Linda Gibbons at (650) 363-4063 or Joe Farmer at (650) 363-4051. Witnesses wishing to remain anonymous can call (800) 547-2700.<
