Former Billionaire Boys Club member Reza Eslaminia, facing jury trial in two weeks on nearly two-year-old drug charges, failed Friday to have the entire case dismissed because he never showed up to court.
Eslaminia, 44, has battled the charges since his July 31, 2002 arrest and has had trial continually delayed for myriad reasons. Most recently, Eslaminia failed to show up to a series of court hearings and was yanked back into custody until he could post a new $100,000 bail bond.
On Friday, defense attorney Bill Johnston asked that the case, scheduled for June 6, be completely tossed under a penal code section.
