The Rotary Club of San Mateo and San Mateo Scout Troop No. 42

The Rotary Club of San Mateo and San Mateo Scout Troop No. 42 have formed a tree-planting partnership with the San Mateo-Foster City School District to help combat Climate Change. The picture shows their inaugural effort of planting six gold medallion trees at LEAD Elementary School in North Shoreview. Eight Rotarians, 14 Scouts, troop leaders and assorted parent volunteers braved fierce winds on Sunday, March 27, to plant trees as well as weed and spruce up planter boxes surrounding a classroom wing. The group plans to continue with future tree planting partnerships at other school campuses.
