How to be a conductor
Have you ever wondered what a symphony conductor does and what the movements of the hands mean?
Get ready maestros and maestras, you’re about to experience the magic of music making with "Becoming a Conductor,” Peninsula Symphony’s Family Concert, featuring Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Mvt 1, Rossini’s William Tell Overture, and performances by the Peninsula Symphony’s Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition winners.
The Peninsula Symphony, a 90-member community orchestra led by music director and conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein, celebrates its 60th anniversary of providing unique and first-class music to the Bay Area community.
"Becoming a Conductor” takes place 3 p.m. Sunday at the College of San Mateo, 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd.
