Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Menlo-Atherton (4-9) rallied for four runs to get back in the win column in a non-league home game against Live Oak-Morgan Hill (4-8-1). The Bears entered play having dropped two straight, and four of their last five.
Third baseman Masataka Shudo returned to the lineup for just his third game of the season, making an impact with a 2-for-3 performance. The senior tied the game in the sixth with an RBI single to score junior Merrick Lee. Freshman Owen Coupe then gave the Bears the lead with an RBI groundout, before senior MJ Ellazar supplied a two-run single to left.
Ellazar went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Coupe drove in two runs, and senior Ryder Kelly paced M-A with three hits, including a pair of doubles to improve his season average to .413.

El Capitan 5, South City 1
El Capitan (9-4) opened the South City Spring Classic with a two-run rally in the first and added three runs in the third to take down the host Warriors (5-6). South City has now dropped four straight.
Cooper Gaoiran and Aidan Witt opened the game with back-to-back singles for the Gauchos, then both scored on a wild pitch. Junior Angel Rivera added an RBI double in the fourth, and Brennan Casey made it 5-0 with an RBI single to left. South City scored in the fifth on an RBI double from junior Vince Bernal. Bernal went 2 for 4 at the plate, and added two scoreless innings on the mound allowing just two walks while striking out four in relief of senior starter Emilio Oseguera.
Lowell 7, Mills 1
Mills sophomore starter Hagan Chan locked up with Lowell junior Owen Leblo in a 1-1 tie through four innings, but the Cardinals (10-4) rallied for four runs in the fifth to claim the non-league win in Millbrae. Leblo went the distance, allowing one run on two hits. Chan departed after 4 2/3 innings in taking the loss. Lowell banged out 10 hits on the day. Junior Tino Janke paced Mills (3-6) with two hits, and sophomore Tyler Yuan drove in the Vikings’ only run in the first.
